Hygiene Supervisor to work at our Rice Mill in Fulbourn. They will be reporting into the QA Manager and be ultimately responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the Mill, in particular the production areas whilst supervising 2 Hygiene OperativesThe main features of the role involves the following -

  • Allocate duties according to the Hygiene Plans and trained abilities, be able to understand the Hygiene Plan and communicate with relevant people to ensure optimum performance.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement/innovation and develop and implement action plans to maximise the potential benefits of such opportunities for the business.
  • Supervise the planning and delivery of standards for BRC Audits, Customer Audits and visits which may be announced or unannounced, and ensure the team are clear on what is required of them.
  • Supervise the development and training of all the Site Hygiene Operatives in activities and standards required.
  • Ensure daily cleaning documentation is completed on a timely basis and conduct routine checks to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with Company Food Safety, GMP and Hygiene policies and procedures at all times.
  • Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of your work area by adopting a "clean as you go" policy.
  • Ensure that all chemicals are stored and handled correctly, and your colleagues use appropriate PPE at all times.
  • Supervise the day to day Pest Control programme.
  • Arrange work permits, silo isolation and lock off with engineers prior to silo cleaning/high level cleaning performed by external contractors.

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience as a Hygiene Supervisor or Hygiene Team Leader in a Food Manufacturing Environment will be ideal or looking for the next level up.
  • Be able to demonstrate people management skills
  • Good understanding of H&S requirements including the ability to understand and use cleaning work instructions, procedures and safe systems of work
  • Experienced in handling chemicals and understanding COSHH requirements.
  • You will be required to attend relevant training courses, including Food Safety training;
  • Be able to effectively prioritise a demanding workload to ensure that all KPI's are achieved.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Work and Excel
