A fantastic opportunity to join one the leading Building and Civil Engineering Contractors operating throughout the UK and Ireland. This Main contractor are actively seeking an up & coming, superstar of the future to lead a 160million life science, commercial project in Cambridge.
Responsibilities
- Be able to deliver a project over 150+million project from preconstruction through to handover.
- You will be the point of contact for the client and have to liaise with them frequently.
- You will be responsible for Health & Safety and Quality assurance of the project
- Manage the Site team and the subcontractors
- You will be heavily involved in the procurement of subcontractors throughout the duration of the scheme
- Report in regularly to the Operations Manager
Qualifications for the role
- Preferably degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction management
- A background in commercial, life science is desired or a similar construction field.
- Experience with RC Frame structures and overseeing the whole build process from start to finish. Preconstruction through to handover.
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role and delivering large construction projects from cradle to grave
- Commercial / life science experience is desired
- Understanding of two-stage, single stage and negotiated tendering
- Confident communicating with colleagues and senior members of management
- The ability to work to tight deadlines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Flexibility in approach
- Strong team ethic
