Position: Director of Resources Location: Cambridge Employment Type: Fixed-Term Contract (6 months, potential for extension) About the RoleA highly regarded charity is seeking an accomplished Director of Resources to provide strategic leadership across Finance, HR, Legal, and Estates. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Board, the successful candidate will play a key role in shaping a collaborative, business-partnering culture within the organisation.This is a fixed-term contract (initially 6 months) with the possibility of extension or renewal. Candidates must be available to start within one month.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Finance, HR, Legal, and Estates functions, ensuring alignment with the charity's mission and strategic objectives.
  • Act as a trusted partner to the CEO and Board, providing financial and operational insight to drive decision-making.
  • Develop a high-performing team culture that fosters collaboration and strategic business partnering across the organisation.
  • Ensure robust financial management, risk assessment, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the charity's estates strategy, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Provide governance oversight, ensuring strong legal and HR frameworks.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a proven track record at C-suite or board level.
  • Extensive experience overseeing finance, HR, legal, and estates functions within a complex organisation (charity experience desirable).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive cultural change and embed a collaborative, business-partnering approach.
  • Exceptional strategic, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, including trustees and external partners.
  • Must be available to start within one month.
