With a strong focus on innovation, collaboration, and excellence, they are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Buyer to strengthen their procurement function.

Role Summary:

As a Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and products to meet the company's operational and development needs. Reporting directly to the Site Purchasing Manager, you'll be responsible for processing orders, maintaining supplier relationships, optimising inventory levels, and contributing to key development projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Order Management: Process and confirm orders in multiple ERP systems, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Supplier Communication: Maintain strong relationships through commercial correspondence and lead time monitoring.
  • Data Maintenance: Update supplier and item information, including contact details, payment terms, purchase prices, and delivery times.
  • Inventory Control: Monitor and manage stock levels, batch sizes, and safety stock levels to optimise procurement strategies.
  • Project Support: Act as a key project member in development initiatives, including the onboarding of new suppliers.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Collect, analyse, and report procurement data to support decision-making.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure procurement aligns with overall business goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive lean practices, optimise procurement processes, and champion best practices to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
  • Experience: A strong background in purchasing or procurement, ideally within manufacturing or life science sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and data management.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and experience with data analysis for decision-making.
  • Organisational Ability: Exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a proactive work ethic.
