The main purpose of the role is to design and implement Procurement strategies across a broad portfolio including Capital Equipment and FM Services which support our manufacturing facility in Cambridge. The key objectives are to achieve significant Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) benefits to the organization, develop and implement robust risk mitigation strategies and create strategic relationships with our key supply partners and internal stakeholders.

Role and responsibilities

  • Manage all strategic and operational Procurement activity related to key categories including Capital Equipment / Construction & FM services

  • Responsible for creating a three-year savings pipeline to deliver YOY savings

  • Implement robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) across all key suppliers acting as the single point of contact and ensuring contractual KPI’s are achieved / exceeded and TCO benefits are identified and implemented across the product portfolio.

  • Create and implement a robust risk mitigation strategy for all Direct Materials supplied into our manufacturing facility in Cambridge to ensure that there are zero interruptions to supply.

  • Develop and implement robust partnerships with key suppliers and internal business stakeholders

What you’ll bring

  • MCIPS

  • Extensive knowledge and experience managing Direct Procurement categories / Capital & FM services at a strategic and operational level.

  • Experience in working in the pharmaceuticals and Life sciences industry is desirable

  • MBA, Lean / Six sigma Master Black belt, Project management capability are desirable

  • Demonstrated ability to build robust and value adding relationships

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement quick win savings and in developing a longer-term pipeline of savings.

  • Excellent communication skills & ability to work across multiple layers within the company and with our key suppliers.

  • Experienced in managing categories of spend through formal Category Management processes

  • Capable of identifying risks and designing /implementing robust risk mitigation strategies

  • Capable negotiating and managing complex contracts

  • Self motivated and confident in ability to bring about meaningful change to deliver the best results for the organization
