Flux Consulting have partnered with a RICS Chartered Quantity Surveying and Project Management practice based in Cambridgeshire who currently deliver projects in a wide range of sectors from £500k to £40m.

They are a progressive and dynamic practice, growing year-on-year, with a healthy pipeline of on-going and future projects. Their work is a varied mix of new build, refurbishment, and infrastructure projects. They predominantly work in leisure, education, residential, fit-out and decarbonisation.

Job Description

We are seeking an adaptable, pragmatic, and enthusiastic Senior or Associate level Chartered Quantity Surveyor from a PQS background to become a valued member of the team and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

The role will predominantly comprise cost planning, tendering, tender analysis, attending project meetings, undertaking valuations, producing cost reports and negotiating with Contractors. You will have significant autonomy in your role.

Experience of undertaking the Employer’s Agent / Contract Administrator role would be desirable but is not essential.

Projects are predominantly delivered in the South East and East of England.

The ideal applicant will possess;

  • PQS Background
  • RICS Chartered (as a Quantity Surveyor) with minimum of 2 years post-chartered experience
  • Excellent IT skills including being proficient in Excel and able to use measurement software
  • Strong numeracy, measurement, cost planning and tender analysis skills, good commercial awareness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter, able to manage their own time and lead their own projects
  • Strong client-facing skills
  • Experience of JCT forms of contract

It would also be advantageous if you have;

  • Employers Agent / Contract Administration experience
  • Demonstrable experience of working in various sectors; leisure, commercial and education are most desirable
  • Experience of NEC Option A form of contract
