Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor based in Cambridge. The successful candidate will oversee healthcare and educational projects ranging from 5 million to 30 million. With a focus on managing cost, contracts, and ensuring timely project delivery, you will play a pivotal role in project success. The role offers flexible working arrangements and an excellent benefits package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all commercial activities across multiple projects in the healthcare and educational sectors.
- Manage the quantity surveying team and provide mentoring to junior QSs.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including NEC and JCT contracts.
- Prepare accurate cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts for clients.
- Actively contribute to procurement strategies and supplier negotiations.
- Conduct regular site visits, ensuring work is progressing to agreed budgets and timelines.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, handling any variations or changes.
- Work closely with the project delivery teams and ensure collaboration across departments.
- Provide senior management with regular commercial updates.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MRICS or equivalent qualification.
- Strong track record as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in the main contracting environment.
- Experience working on healthcare and/or educational projects.
- Proficiency in managing projects valued between 5-30 million.
- Excellent knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
- Ability to manage teams and work collaboratively with various project stakeholders.
- Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness.
