Leading rail engineering organisation seeks two Senior Quantity Surveyors with strong target cost contract (NR12 or NEC) and change management experience for an 18 month contract based near Cambridge.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to engage in a critical infrastructure project, operating on an outside IR35 basis. Hybrid working is offered but candidates will be required to be in the office 2-3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing commercial support to assist the project team with various commercial matters
  • Managing subcontractor agreements and overseeing change management processes
  • Supporting the Programme Commercial Manager with day-to-day commercial operations
  • Maintain accurate cost reporting and utilise finance systems effectively
  • Sourcing evidence to prepare and substantiate change submissions to Network Rail
  • Ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions
  • Analysing and reporting on project financial performance
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery

Job Requirements:

  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, particularly within the rail or civil engineering main contractor environment
  • Strong target cost contract experience - NR12 or NEC
  • Strong understanding of commercial management principles and practices
  • Strong in subcontractor management and change management processes
  • Excellent IT skills, including experience with cost reporting and finance systems
  • Ability to source and prepare evidence for change submissions
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work onsite 2-3 days a week in Cambridge
