Bennet and Game is partnering with a highly regarded Civil Engineering, Groundworks, and Demolition specialist in Cambridge to seek an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £95,000 (potentially more for exceptional candidates) and provides fast-tracked career progression within a rapidly growing company.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll work closely with the Directors to secure, manage, and deliver projects, ensuring high standards and profitability across the board. Our client's business thrives on repeat contracts, driven by their reputation for delivering exceptional quality to the civil construction industry. You'll play a key role in managing project finances, from formulating detailed costings and valuations to maintaining overall financial control on each project.

Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Overview

  • Prepare, negotiate, and analyze budget costs.
  • Offer advice on legal and contractual matters while identifying and managing commercial risks.
  • Produce and present monthly Cost Value Reconciliations for ongoing projects.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships within the project team.
  • Prepare detailed costing, bills of quantities (BOQs), valuations, and quotations.
  • Maintain financial control over projects to secure profitability within the contracting division.
  • Undertake some estimating responsibilities as needed.


Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements

  • HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a Civil Engineering Contractor.
  • Knowledge of JCT & NEC forms of contract.
  • Strong estimating skills and financial acumen.
  • Ambition to progress within a growing company.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK as required.
