Now is the right time to hire a driven and ambitious Recruitment Consultant for their office in Cambridge.

DUTIES

As a recruitment consultant, you're the vital link between clients and candidates. The role is demanding, diverse and involves:

  • using sales, business development, marketing techniques and networking to attract business from client companies
  • visiting clients to build and develop positive relationships with them
  • developing a good understanding of client companies, their industry, what they do, their work culture and environment
  • advertising vacancies by drafting and placing adverts in a range of media, such as newspapers, websites and magazines
  • using social media to advertise positions, attract candidates and build relationships
  • headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates who may already be in work
  • using candidate databases to match the right person to the client's vacancy
  • requesting references and checking the suitability of applicants before submitting their details to the client
  • briefing the candidate about the responsibilities, salary and benefits of the job in question
  • negotiating pay and salary rates and finalising arrangements between client and candidates
  • offering advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training and career progression
  • working towards and exceeding targets that may relate to the number of candidates placed

The commission package is uncapped, with an unlimited earning potential which will provide excellent rewards for profitable consultants. This includes an additional performance related end of year bonus.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

It would be an advantage for Recruitment Consultants to have prior knowledge of a Trade and Labour desk, but this is not essential. Recruitment Consultants must be able to develop a loyal customer base by providing an excellent service, in order to create a consistently profitable desk. Recruitment Consultants will be expected to perform sales calls, undertake site visits and head office visits unaided in order to lead generate and secure business.

TRAINING AND SUPPORT

Consultants will initially be provided with one-to-one training and then appointed to a mentor to facilitate their growth in this challenging but rewarding sector. Our Consultants regularly undertake external training to make sure that their approaches are at the forefront of the industry. Although a 360 role, Resourcers are made available, so that consultants can concentrate on business development activities.

OPPORTUNITES

This will be an ideal position for Consultants who feel they have reached the ceiling with their current employer, or who are unable to target the whole of the market due to operational constraints. There are genuine opportunities for Consultants who have the ambition to manage and train staff and to work up to a senior managerial position within the company.
