Mobile Plant Fitter – Road Machinery

Location: Covering Cambridge and the South East | Full-Time | 38.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced mobile plant engineer looking to work with cutting-edge road machinery equipment? Our client, a leading full-service distributor and after-sales specialist in construction machinery, is looking for a talented Mobile Plant Fitter to join their Road Machinery team. You’ll have the opportunity to service and maintain advanced pavers and rollers in the South East region, with an ideal base in Cambridge, Milton Keynes, or Kent.

Hands-On with Advanced Road Machinery equipment: You’ll be working on high-performance pavers and rollers, ensuring they perform at their best. No two days are the same, and you’ll be tackling diverse mechanical challenges that keep things interesting.

Work Independently and Flexibly: As a Mobile Engineer, you’ll have the freedom to manage your day, travel between sites, and solve technical issues on the go.

Join a Specialised Team: Be part of a dedicated Road Machinery team, working on specialist equipment and expanding your expertise in this vital sector.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Service, repair, and overhaul road machinery such as pavers and rollers, ensuring they run efficiently.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using the latest diagnostic tools and technology.
  • Install software updates and complete real-time electronic reporting to ensure machines meet operational standards.
  • Order parts as required to keep projects moving smoothly.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Level 3 qualification in HGV, Plant, Agricultural, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in construction or heavy plant machinery maintenance and repair.
  • Experience with road machinery (pavers/rollers) is a plus, but not essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electronics.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and respond to call-outs when needed.
  • Possess your own tools for the role
  • Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
