We are working with a specialist mental health charity renowned for their successes in helping people with mental health support needs get back into employment. It’s genuinely a lovely charity to work for. They have won lots of new contracts and the feedback from the 40 people we placed has been great (and our first ever placement we made at the charity is still working there 10 years later!) We have 2 x hybrid roles available, outreach and community work are vital for this post so you must be flexible to travel and must have access to your own vehicle:
  • Cambridgeshire and Central Bedfordshire – typically 3 days home based, and 2 days office based depending on service needs. Cambridge (every Wednesday) and Huntingdon would be your office bases.
  • Cambridgeshire – typically 3 days home based, and 2 days office based depending on service needs. Cambridge and Huntingdon would be your office bases. Your office days could be either Cambridge (every Wednesday) or Huntingdon, and you will be required to conduct outreach work within community to Peterborough, Wisbech, Fenland, and March.
You will work with a caseload of around 25 clients with mental health support needs who have approached the service on a voluntary basis as they feel they are now ready to return to work. Some of your clients might be employed (but perhaps signed off for stress or anxiety) and need support around returning to work / discussing reasonable adaptions (or seeking a new career that suits them better).  And others will be unemployed and looking for one to one guidance to help them find the right career move for them.A typical one to one could include helping them to write a CV, create a cover letter, prepare for an interview, produce career ideas, and search for jobs.  You work at the client’s pace, so this is very much client focussed rather than target focussed. To apply, you must have previously had experience of supporting people into employment.  So, you might have previously worked as an Employment Advisor, Recruitment Consultant, Careers Advisor, Job Coach, or maybe another role where part of your job is supporting and guiding people towards employment. Please apply via this advert – everyone gets a response.  And if for any reason you have not, please call the office and ask for Lawrence (or if you would like to speak to someone first before applying).  If you do receive an email to say we don’t feel your CV is a match to what the employer is looking for, the same email details how you can easily get feedback from a real person. Interviews will take place in person on 19th Jul 2024.
