Reed Further Education are working with an education provider in Cambridge who are looking for a Learning Support Worker on a temporary ongoing basis. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.Job Title: Learning Support WorkerPosition: Part-time/Full-timeRole type: Temporary OngoingLocation: Cambridge, CB4Rate: £13p/h - £15p/h including holiday payResponsibilities:
- Support, supervise, and report on the learning and holistic development of individuals or small groups of students.
- Provide on-course support (e.g., general in-lesson support, note-taking, assistance with practical tasks).
- Offer off-course support (e.g,, helping students move safely, encouraging integration into College activities).
- Liaising with teaching staff and other relevant personnel to cater to individual student needs.
- Assisting with the development of student independence and involvement in College activities.
- Work with students who have a education, health and care plan (EHCP)
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum Level 2 qualification as a Teaching Assistant - desirable
- Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English & Maths
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour
- Experience working with adults/teenagers or children with special education needs
- Excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance
