We are currently working with a highly reputable organisation which specialises in providing mobile communication products. They are a leading developer and supplier of radio terminals, accessories, and software applications. Based in Cambridge, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Software Architect to join their team. This is a unique opportunity offering a hybrid role with flexible working options.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing software solutions for embedded, real-time devices. As part of a collaborative team, you will work closely with customer support, product managers, project managers, and developers to understand requirements and contribute to the development of a complete system.
- This role is primarily focused on enhancing existing products with new software features. Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Â Leading the design of complex software solutions for mobile radio devices by working closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, technical experts, and product managers to understand software requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
- Creating and maintaining architectural patterns and blueprints to provide a framework for software designers and developers, ensuring scalability, security, and performance requirements are met.
- Providing technical direction across multiple software projects, guiding development teams to meet project objectives while maintaining the integrity of the architecture.
- We are looking for an outstanding communicator who can effectively gather requirements and collaborate with stakeholders.
To be considered for this role, candidates should have the following qualifications and experience:
- A degree in a technical field.
- Prior experience as a Software Architect or Senior Software Engineer looking to advance into an architectural role, with proficiency in C++, Java, and modern software development frameworks.
- Significant Software Design and Development experience, preferably in the mobile communications industry.
- Ideally, experience working with Android devices.
