Senior Bioinformatician£65,000 - £75,000South Cambridge, Hybrid 2-3 days per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and skilled Bioinformatics Software Developer to join one of Cambridge's exciting biopharmaceutical companies working on truly life-changing advancements in patient treatments. You might be interested in them because:

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain bioinformatic tools and pipelines.
  • Provide analytical and statistical expertise to enhance the design of tools.
  • Support the creation of web-based bioinformatics databases for analysis.
  • Optimise pipelines to ensure scalability and flexibility throughout production.
  • Lead and organise projects, collaborating with project members and presenting updates to stakeholders and the wider business.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of industrial experience in bioinformatics.
  • Strong Python programming ability and experience with Python testing frameworks.
  • Proficiency in analysing next-generation sequencing data.
  • SQL Databases, such as PostgreSQL.

Desirable:

  • Additional programming experience in languages such as R, JavaScript, Go, or Rust.
  • Cloud (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
