Position: Cover Supervisor �???�?

Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a productive and harmonious classroom environment when regular teachers are absent. Your responsibilities include supervising students, ensuring they stay on task with pre-prepared exercises, and providing support across different subjects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Classroom Management:

  • In the absence of the class teacher, create a safe, tidy, and productive classroom environment.
  • Manage student behaviour in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy.

Student Engagement:

  • Keep students motivated to complete pre-set exercises.
  • Guide students through the steps required to complete tasks.
  • Provide necessary materials or tools for pre-prepared work.

Curriculum Support:

  • Assist students across different curriculum areas (Key Stage 3 and 4).
  • Ensure students follow pre-prepared material as per school policy.

Communication:

  • Communicate with the absent teacher and forward completed exercises to them.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience working with young people in a learning environment.
  • Clear and positive communication skills.
  • Understanding of the curriculum.
  • GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
