About the Role: We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join our school in Cambridge. The successful candidate will play an essential role in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) within a positive and inclusive learning environment. If you have a background in childcare or care support work, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to individual students or small groups with SEN
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring students can engage in lessons and activities
  • Support students with personal care needs, where required
  • Work closely with the class teacher to implement personalised learning plans
  • Help students develop social, communication, and emotional skills
  • Monitor students' progress and report observations to the class teacher
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with students to enhance their confidence and well-being
  • Assist in implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and learning

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in childcare, care support work, or a similar field
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with children
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • An understanding of the needs of children with SEN
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working with children with a range of special educational needs
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of strategies to support children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning difficulties
