Job Title: Full-Time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant

About the Role: We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant to join our school in Cambridge. The successful candidate will play an essential role in supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) within a positive and inclusive learning environment. If you have a background in childcare or care support work, we would love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to individual students or small groups with SEN
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring students can engage in lessons and activities
- Support students with personal care needs, where required
- Work closely with the class teacher to implement personalised learning plans
- Help students develop social, communication, and emotional skills
- Monitor students' progress and report observations to the class teacher
- Build strong, supportive relationships with students to enhance their confidence and well-being
- Assist in implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and learning
Essential Criteria:
- Experience in childcare, care support work, or a similar field
- A compassionate and patient approach to working with children
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- An understanding of the needs of children with SEN
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working with children with a range of special educational needs
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent)
- Knowledge of strategies to support children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or other learning difficulties
