An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join a pioneering technology company dedicated to accelerating the energy transition. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a passion for solving new-to-world technology challenges and a drive to translate them into significant revenue streams. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in establishing the sales pipeline from its inception and will possess the tenacity to see the process through to commission earnings. Experience in a start-up environment and the ability to solve puzzles and convert leads to contracts are highly advantageous.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Create opportunities to build a robust sales pipeline.
  • Develop and influence the ecosystem to build future revenue pathways.
  • Build strategic networks and partnerships.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals effectively.
  • Manage a portfolio to deliver revenue outcomes and scale market opportunities.
  • Engage with the internal technical community and translate technical aspects into commercial outcomes.
  • Support grant application processes.
  • Work closely with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and commercial professionals to contribute to the company’s success in addressing major global challenges.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven background in Process Industry/Manufacturing.
  • Advanced Materials or Deep Tech Licensing experience preferred.
  • Ability to identify commercial opportunities and convert them into revenue streams.
  • Experience in building trust and influencing partners.
  • Independent self-starter with a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex, multi-layered information to all audiences.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and adept at managing interactions.
  • Experience in building, owning, and delivering a revenue pipeline.
