Associate Transport Planner
Location: Cambridge
Salary: 55k - 65k plus package
Emtech are working with a privately owned Transport & Engineering Consultancy who are looking for an Associate Transport Planner to join their Transport team in Cambridge. In this role you will be expected to project manage a range of development schemes, manage clients, help to grow the team and train / mentor junior staff.
This is a business that have grown year on year and offer a varied workload with real progression prospects.
Ideally you will have the have the following experience:
- You will be undertaking development planning work, specialising in providing highways and transport advice to a wide range of private sector clients, while supporting several key local authority clients. They provide advice on access, transportation and infrastructure issues and support development proposals throughout the planning process. The projects are varied so experience across a range of sectors such a residential, education, retail etc would be useful
- You will have a proven record in client care
- You will have relevant qualifications (Bachelor or Masters) in a numerical or spatial discipline and extensive experience in transport planning in a development planning environment. The ability to think at both strategic and detailed levels is advantageous.
- You will be an experienced transport planner with extensive knowledge and experience of the planning process involving EIP/Structure Plans and Public Inquiries/Local Plans. You will be well versed in the preparation of Transport Assessments for developments, together with Travel Plans, Transport Studies, the associated negotiations with planning, highways and transport authorities.
- You will be proficient in GIS, ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG and TEMPRO highway software, so you will be able to delegate to and accurately interpret the work of others.
- You will have strong written and verbal communication skills and able to work as part of a team and individually. Experience in technical report writing and consultation with stakeholders is essential.
- Keen to get involved with business development and marketing activities to support new revenue streams within transport planning
