Are you looking to kickstart or take the next step in your planning career? We're recruiting for a Planner to join a forward-thinking multi-disciplinary consultancy renowned for delivering exceptional planning, design, and environmental services. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects, including the UK's largest consented solar farm, Cottam Solar Farm.

About the Role:

As a Planner, you'll support the wider planning team in delivering innovative solutions for clients. With hands-on guidance and structured development, this role will help you grow your technical expertise, project management skills, and client confidence as you build your career.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Assisting in drafting and managing planning applications, pre-application enquiries, and appeals.
  • Conducting research and preparing planning appraisals.
  • Providing guidance to engineers and architects on planning-related submissions.
  • Managing section or project budgets and work in progress.
  • Gaining responsibility for fee control and technical direction on projects.
  • Building client relationships and gaining experience in stakeholder management.
  • Supporting community engagement, public examinations, and committee meetings.
  • Preparing fee proposals to generate new business.
  • Attending occasional site visits and client meetings.
What We're Looking For:
  • An RTPI-accredited degree or Master's in a related discipline.
  • Ideally working towards chartership with the RTPI.
  • At least a year's experience in a planning role, whether in the public or private sector.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent client liaison and negotiation abilities.
  • A good understanding of the UK planning process.
