The primary purpose of this job role is to; 

Provide high quality teaching and access to learning in addition to undertaking associated tutorial duties. It is expected that the post holder will contribute to course design, development of programmes and the expansion of the area generally.

The primary duties, tasks and responsibilities of this job role are to; 

•    Deliver high quality teaching and learning to a timetable that may include evening, Saturday and summer periods. 
•    Deliver inspirational teaching and access to learning across a range of programmes and levels. 
•    Provide teaching and assessment opportunities in line with the relevant awarding body requirements to promote access to achievement. 
•    Provide and maintain teaching materials including handouts, assignments, booklists, assessment papers, online resources and upkeep of the VLE. 
•    Prepare electronic Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment. 
•    Undertake the necessary administrative tasks required for the effective operation of programmes in the faculty including up to date use of vital and EBS. 
•    Carry out moderation/ assessment and verification in line with college and awarding body standards. 
•    Work with colleagues to integrate English and Maths into the vocational curriculum 

Undertake tutorial responsibilities. 
•    Act as a course tutor and personal tutor with responsibility for supporting learners in achieving their targets 
•    Track and review student progress and maintain student records using ProMonitor and other internal systems. 
•    Provide feedback on progress to the student, parents/guardians and employers. 
•    Arrange and support the work experience programme/employer engagement. 

Assist in the recruitment and admission of new students which may include evening, Saturday and summer periods. 
•    Assist in recruitment and admission of new students. 
•    Attend promotional events to publicise College activities. 
•    Contribute to the compilation of publicity materials 

Team administration, liaison and development 
•    Communicate effectively with other team members. 
•    Participate in course team reviews and evaluation. 
•    Respond to curriculum development and new course initiatives originating from within the department. 
•    Advise on resource requirements for effective implementation of study programmes 
•    Liaise with external awarding bodies representatives e.g. External Verifiers/moderators. 

Qualifications:
•    Relevant degree or equivalent professional qualifications or industry experience 
•    First Aid Qualification 
•    Level 3 literacy, numeracy qualifications 
•    Assessor awards A1/2, D32/33 (or working towards) 
•    Full teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE, DTLS) 
•    Level 3 in Education and Training. 

Relevant Experience:
•    Teaching and assessing on one or more of the following disciplines: 
•    Travel and Tourism sector 
•    Relevant recent work or industrial experience in Business or Travel and Tourism. 
•    Experience of leading and motivating teams. 
•    Experience of teaching to a good standard 
•    Ability to write schemes of work and lesson plans in accordance with examining / governing body specifications
