Job Title: Production EngineerLocation: Southend-on-SeaSalary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annumWe are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our team in Southend-on-Sea. This role will focus on New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Improvement, and Maintenance Engineering to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness within the production process.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring smooth transition from development to production.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to optimize production efficiency, quality, and cost.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability, identifying and implementing proactive solutions.
  • Provide engineering support for the repair and overhaul of components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and refine manufacturing processes, tooling, and work instructions to enhance production capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, quality, and supply chain to resolve technical challenges.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve product performance and reduce defects.
  • Identify and implement lean manufacturing principles and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards.
Key Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Production Engineering.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or precision engineering sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes.
  • Proven experience in Continuous Improvement (CI), Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Understanding of maintenance engineering principles and best practices.
  • Experience in developing work instructions, process documentation, and tooling.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working in a cross-functional environment.
