Looking for a a Financial Accountant for a retail business based in Cannock. The Financial Accountant will maintaining the financial health and accuracy of the company's financial records. They manage financial statements, support budgeting processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

A leading provider in the Retails industry across the UK. Their main focus is on supplying, servicing, and maintaining a range of industrial and construction equipment.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Financial Accountant will be to;

  • Prepare and maintain financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements) to reflect the financial position and performance of the retail business.
  • Ensure financial reports are accurate, timely, and comply with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Assist in creating and monitoring budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Provide analysis of actual vs. budgeted figures, identifying variances and their underlying reasons to aid decision-making.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers, manage payment terms, and optimize cash flow.
  • Track inventory levels and costs, particularly as they impact the cost of goods sold and gross margins.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of accounts, including bank reconciliations, inventory, and intercompany accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjustments during the month-end close process to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Profile

The successful Financial Accountant will be;

  • Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA
  • Significant experience working in finance department(s)
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel - examples; VLOOKUP, SUMIF, PIVOT TABLES
  • Demonstrable ability to adapt to new IT tools
  • Experience in managing large data sets
  • Strong interpersonal skills
