About the Company:

We are looking to recruit a Management Accountant who will also carry out the functions of a Business Analyst to join our dynamic and fast-growing business.

We are an established business with an annual turnover exceeding £10 million. Our client is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a highly skilled Management Accountant with expertise in business analytics and data visualisation. This role will be pivotal in driving financial insights, and strategic decision-making, assisting in planning and budgeting and operational efficiency, thus ensuring the company’s financial health. You will be responsible for analysing data and implementing processes and systems as well as creating and providing commentary on reports.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management and Reporting:

  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. To include P&L , balance sheet and cash flow statement for presentation to the UK Senior Management and Quarterly to the Italian Parent Company.
  • Conduct variance analysis on budgets and forecasts to identify key drivers of business performance.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis and business plans.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and contribute to financial planning and strategy.
  • Oversee reconciliation processes and ensure all financial records are maintained accurately.
  • Support the annual budgeting process.
  • Quarterly forecasting process.
  • Oversee financial controls and compliance with regulations and internal policies

Business Analytics and Decision Support:

  • Develop and implement Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards to provide actionable insights for leadership and operational teams.
  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
  • Deliver comprehensive reports that combine financial data with key business metrics to support data-driven decisions.
  • Provide in-depth profitability analysis by department, product line, or customer base to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct cost analyses and identify cost saving and operational saving opportunities

Operational Support and Strategic Initiatives:

  • Collaborate with department heads to optimize cost structures and identify efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor KPIs and advise on areas of underperformance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Support strategic projects such as new product lines or market expansion with financial modelling and feasibility analysis.
  • Ensure robust financial processes are in place to support business growth.

Key Skills and Experience:

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration related field
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong experience in management accounting and financial analysis in a manufacturing, automotive, or similar industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems, accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, or SAP), and integration with BI tools.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and provide actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data modelling, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
  • Demonstrated ability to create dynamic, visually appealing dashboards and analytic reports.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in advising senior management on financial strategies.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with UK financial regulations, VAT, and corporate taxation requirements.
  • Knowledge of SQL or other database querying languages.
  • Experience working in high-growth businesses or multi-site organizations.
  • Proven track record in streamlining financial processes and implementing automation.
