Accounts Assistant

  • Annual Salary: £24,000 - £26,000 (subject to experience)

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Administrator to join our small, friendly team in the metals industry. This role is ideal for someone with a proactive, hands-on approach who thrives in a dynamic environment. The position involves handling a high volume of purchase invoices in multiple currencies and providing support across various financial functions.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Process high volume purchase invoices in multiple currencies.
  • Match, batch, and code invoices.
  • Execute payment processes twice weekly.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any supplier queries.
  • Conduct daily bank reconciliations.
  • Provide cover for sales ledger, credit control, and other areas within finance as needed.
  • Assist with month-end audits and various project work.
  • Perform general office duties.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP is highly advantageous but not essential.
  • Proven ability in handling high volumes of financial data accurately.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant experience in accounting or bookkeeping is preferred.
  • AAT, CIMA, ACCA certification is a plus but not required.
