Sales and Operations Planner
Location: Cannock, West Midlands
Salary: Up to 32.5k
Hours: Mon-Fri
Grafton recruiting are working on behalf of a successful, leading manufacturing business in the Cannock area who are looking for an experienced Operations Planner to join their team.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Play a key role in development and implementation of S&OP rules through understanding business and customer requirements
  • Assist in development of ERP system to improve forecast accuracy and S&OP process efficiency
  • Work closely with the sales teams to understand customers ordering behaviours and collaborate to drive order accuracy improvement
  • Review sales demand, understand the assumptions / trends / constraints and opportunities to generate & communicate the supply plan to key stakeholders
  • Analyse sales trends and identify the key drivers of sales for key products
  • Identify abnormal demand to prevent downstream issues
  • Work closely with the factories to ensure adherence to the build plans and understand any reason for deviation and potential impact to stock and service levels
  • Provide scenario plans to evaluate management of constraints and opportunities, show agility in evaluating the impact of change in demand and / or supply and make recommendations
  • Monitor and challenge adherence to the sales and production plans
  • Publish stock availability data
  • Develop and publish score card of the business performance
  • Liaise and build strong communication channels with all departments

The perfect candidate will have:

  • Experience of S&OP process
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Must be able to analyse and interpret data to make decisions / recommendations
  • Continuous Improvement mind-set, uses a data and evidence approach
  • Effective communication & engagement skills
  • Good commercial understanding and business acumen
  • Understanding of ERP systems, forecasting and capacity planning modules
  • Desire to establish good understanding of Customer and Supplier relationships
  • Experience within a manufacturing background
