The Supply Register are recruiting for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join schools across Cannock. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support for students with a range of special educational needs.
  • Assist with the delivery of tailored learning plans to support individual student development.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and developing key skills in communication, social interactions, and independence.
  • Manage challenging behaviours in a calm and positive manner, fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to ensure that each student’s needs are being met effectively.
  • Record and report on student progress, highlighting areas of improvement.
  • Help with the physical care and wellbeing of students where needed (e.g., personal care, mobility support).
Requirements:
  • Recent experience working in an SEN classroom is essential.
  • Must hold an enhanced DBS on the update service.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience or qualifications in SEN, childcare, or education is desirable but not essential.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude with the ability to adapt to various classroom settings and challenges.
