You'll report to the Head of Department for the Arts.

The Role:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Department for the Arts to plan and prepare effective lessons within the school's curriculum and schemes of work.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that motivate, inspire, and enhance student attainment.
  • Ensure students acquire and consolidate knowledge, skills, and understanding relevant to the subject.
  • Guarantee that all students either achieve at or make significant progress toward chronological age level.
  • Direct and supervise support staff, participating in recruitment and selection activities when needed.
  • Organize trips and visits to enrich students' learning experiences.
  • Monitor and evaluate assessment and feedback to students in line with school and department
  • Follow department monitoring and tracking systems related to student attainment, progress, and achievement.
  • Mark, grade, and provide written/verbal and diagnostic feedback as required.
  • Undertake assessments as requested by external examination bodies and school procedures.
  • Assess, record, and report on student attendance, progress, development, and attainment, maintaining necessary records.
  • Knowledge Keeper: Stay updated on teachers' professional duties and legal responsibilities.
  • Policy Adherence: Operate within the school's policies, including Health and Safety, Child Protection, Assessment, and Behavior.
  • Role Model: Maintain high expectations for every student and be a positive role model through personal presentation and conduct.
  • Resource Sharer: Collaborate with colleagues to optimize resource usage.
  • Contribute to school life through effective participation in meetings and management systems.
  • Undertake various responsibilities as directed by the Head of Department for the Arts or the Principal.
