Management Accountant

Join a respected organisation as a Management Accountant. This role is ideal for an AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified professional looking to develop their career in a dynamic Finance Department. The position offers a variety of responsibilities and the chance to support key financial processes and procedures.

Day-to-Day of the Role:
  • Oversee month-end procedures and prepare monthly management accounts.
  • Handle accruals, prepayments, and monthly journal postings.
  • Manage payroll postings and reconcile payroll-related balance sheet accounts.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and control account reconciliations, including inter-company accounts.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register, manage depreciation, additions, and disposals.
  • Support the rollout of the full Purchase Ordering system, including configuring training.
  • Assist budget managers with reports and expenditure analysis.
  • Quality check VAT returns and assist with statutory reporting to government organisations.
  • Plan audit schedules and assist with the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
  • Oversee financial transactions for investment properties and liaise with the letting agency.
  • Prepare a three-year rolling budget, including creating nominal codes and consolidating reports.
  • Manage aged debtors for all companies and reconcile to trial balance.
  • Support other roles within the Finance department as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Finance department.
  • Experience in statutory accounts preparation and familiarity with Sage 200.
  • High level of integrity, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, able to cope under pressure, and flexible in work approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise competing demands.
  • IT literate, confident in using Microsoft Office products.
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
  • Minimum grade C in Maths and English GCSEs.
