System Accountant

Role Overview:Â As an IT-Savvy Accountant, you will be instrumental in enhancing our finance systems and streamlining financial processes. Your expertise will help us meet the complex needs of our organisation, delivering accurate financial reporting, and providing access to real-time financial information to enable better decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finance Management System Implementation:
- Support the specification and implementation of a new Finance Management System.
- Review and improve manual processes associated with legacy systems.
- Drive change and improve efficiency within the finance department.
- Data Strategy:
- Assist the IT Manager in providing finance input towards the production of a formal data strategy.
- Ensure data quality and reliability.
- Financial Support:
- Assist the Director of Finance in delivering the wider functions of the finance department.
- Prepare annual accounts and management reporting.
- Handle job and project costing, forecasting, managing investments, and insurance.
- Ensure strong internal controls are maintained.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of financial management systems and their implementation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive change and improve efficiency.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant accounting qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
