Job Title: General Operative
Location: Canterbury, Kent
Salary: 23,795.20 - 24,169.60 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4.30pm
Our Client:
Our client designs and manufactures Structural Timber Engineered Products, including Roof Trusses, Floor Systems, Metal Web and Timber Frame Structures.
Role Summary:
You will be responsible for assembling heavy timber frames, joists, wall panels and other timber objects.

Key responsibilities within your new role would be to:
- Manufacture products following work orders.
- Use of hand tools, cutting machines, presses and other industrial machinery.
- Identify what plates are needed for building and were to find them.
- Make initial template and then complete remainder of production using the template.
- Liaise with forklift drivers when production is complete to remove completed items.
- Report when plates are running low and need re-stocking.
- Maintain and clean and tidy work space.
- Attach customer orders to completed items to make identification easier.
- Cover over areas/departments within the business when required.
Experience and skills required for this position:
- Be able to lift 25kg repetitively throughout your shift.
- Experience using crosscut and table saws.
- Experience using hand tools and basic joinery/woodworking or other relevant practical experience.
- Forklift certification would be ideal but not essential.
- Experience of working on general carpentry and/or manufacturing.
- Good numerical and communication skills.
- Good attention to detail and a 'get it right first time' attitude.
- Excellent team working skills.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Able to use initiative and solve problems.
