We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Manager on Heather ward at St Martins in Canterbury

Heather ward is a male-only adult inpatient ward.

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, patient and staff-centred qualified nurse to maintain the high-quality care delivery. Heather Ward already provides and supports innovation and development. It is essential that you have leadership experience.

Main duties of the job
  • To provide accurate, timely reports and discharge
  • To deal with e-mail correspondence in a timely
  • To monitor the record keeping of junior / non-qualified staff and students where appropriate
  • To link with special interest groups both internal and external to the Trust to share good practice
  • To act as a representative of the service
  • Take account of cultural issues in communication with everyone, including work
  • Understand what translation and advocacy services are available and follow correct
  • Ensures that the electronic Health and Social Care Records of self, of Deputy Ward Manager, and of junior colleagues are up to date, accurate and consistent with Trust
  • Establish and maintain accurate, complete and up to date care plans in Line with Trust policies and
  • Effectively use Trust electronic tools and IT
  • Implement strategies which facilitate adherence to treatment including negotiation skills, early warning signs monitoring and psycho-education, and motivational interviewing skills
