SEND Teaching Assistant - Canterbury

Location: Canterbury, Kent
Contract: Full-time, Permanent, Day-To-Day (Term-time only)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have the patience, dedication, and enthusiasm to support pupils in achieving their full potential?







Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEND, helping them to access the curriculum.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing tailored learning strategies and interventions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, adapting resources to meet individual needs.
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, social skills, and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to track progress and set achievable goals.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.


About You:

  • Experience working with children with SEND in a school or similar setting (preferred but not essential).
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A willingness to undertake relevant training to enhance your skills.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training can be provided).
