Purpose of the Role
As a Working Cleaning Supervisor within the team, you must be able to work safely and efficiently, follow safety procedures, and work well as a team or independently.
The primary purpose of the role of a Working Cleaning Supervisor is to undertake cleaning and supervisory duties of the cleaning team across the landlord areas of the scheme and tasks may include, toilet, office, kitchen, receptions, communal staircases, corridors and any external areas as trained, as well and supervising the basement and waste team.
This position requires a close working relationship with public, store personnel, security teams, and management to ensure the service delivery for Whitefriars exceed expectations.
You will be a high energy employee, presentable and have the ability to communicate, and adapt to a fast-paced changing environment.
You will be proactive, and have the ability to manage your own daily tasks with a “hands on” approach. You will be able to act decisively with an uncompromising eye for detail; to ensure the property and surroundings are immaculately presented, safe and secure throughout your working day.
Key Responsibilities
Tasks (this list is not exhaustive however should you be asked to undertake ANY task outside the below competences and that the appropriate H&S, SOPS, risk assessments and training are in place, any tasks that are outside of this remit would require management permissions)
- To supervise the current team of cleaners ensuring a high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the The Whitefriars premises and maintaining the effective running of the team.
- To be aware of the conditions associated with the cleaning of Whitefriars premises and to work to the appropriate Health and Safety rules, SSOW, COSHH and Savills processes.
- To use the appropriate equipment, materials, tools and machinery to ensure the job is done effectively.
- Cleaning duties will include the cleaning of common areas (staircases and corridors), offices, toilets, kitchens, receptions and external areas or as directed and trained (this list is not exhaustive)
- To report any damage / defects to the appropriate person.
- To liaise with site staff, supervisors and line managers as required.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:
Essential
- Successful track record of delivering a working supervisor tasks.
- Experience in the provision of completing supervisor tasks in a busy environment visited by members of the public.
- Able to demonstrate a good level of customer service.
- Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
- Honest and reliable work ethic.
- Well presented, and can work effectively as part of a team..
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to partake in further on-site training.
Desirable
- Basic Knowledge of H&S legislation.
Competencies:
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent motivational skills
- Capability to work unsupervised and take responsibility
- Experience of being a Working Supervisor within the retail environment
- Working knowledge of equipment/machines to complete tasks in line with the cleaning supervisor role.
- Must have a flexible hands on attitude
- Flexible attitude towards the shift patterns required to meet the needs of the business.
- Aptitude to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to communicate across all levels with a sound understanding of diversity in the work place.
Working Hours - 40hrs
Salary - £14.00
