Role and Experience LevelA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Private Client Lawyer (5+ PQE) to join the firm's highly regarded Private Client Department in Canterbury. This role offers exposure to a varied and complex caseload, with the chance to work alongside leading specialists in Wills, Trusts, Estate Administration, and Tax Planning.

Team and CultureThe Private Client team is composed of 14 experienced fee earners supported by a strong administrative network across the firm's offices. The department prides itself on its supportive and professional culture, where collaboration and mentorship are key. Fee earners are encouraged to develop their skills and grow within the firm, making this an ideal environment for experienced solicitors seeking long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on and drafting Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA), and Inheritance Tax Planning strategies.
  • Managing complex estate administration, including domestic and overseas assets.
  • Assisting with Court of Protection applications and related matters.
  • Advising on the creation and management of Trusts and agricultural estates.
  • Handling straightforward probate matters or escalating to senior partners when necessary.
  • Engaging in business development through networking and participation in marketing events.
  • Visiting clients at their homes, hospitals, or care facilities when required to provide tailored legal advice.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior fee earners and trainees within the department.
