Technical Production Assistant - Join a Leading Packhouse Team!Location: Ash, Kent

Salary: Highly competitive DOE

Reporting to: Packhouse Manager & General Packhouse ManagerDirect Reports: Quality Assurance Team

We’re looking for a skilled Technical Production Assistant to join an ambitious Packhouse team in Ash, Kent! As a key player in this role, you’ll oversee production efficiency, reduce packaging waste, and support technical operations, ensuring all quality standards are met.

Hours: Monday - Friday 7 am - 5 pm, Saturday vary from a half day to full day depending upon the needs of the business. Flexibility required

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Drive Efficiency: Monitor production KPIs, working closely with Line Leaders to reduce waste and enhance team productivity.
  • Quality Control Leadership: Lead the QA team, ensuring all products align with top-tier standards.
  • Technical Support: Handle tasks like customer complaints, quality assessments, GMP checks, and internal audits.
  • Compliance Focus: Maintain documentation to meet BRC standards and prepare for meetings and reports on quality and shelf life.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside the Packhouse Manager, stepping in as deputy as needed, while building a strong, cohesive team.

Skills & Knowledge You’ll Bring

  • Production Expertise: Background in production and efficiency monitoring, ideally in fresh produce.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Team-oriented with strong communication and flexibility.
  • Organisational Savvy: Good at managing tasks, setting priorities, and staying on top of key performance targets.
  • Technical Know-How: Familiarity with quality checks, hygiene standards, and relevant food safety certifications like Level 2 Hygiene, food safety, and HACCP.

Key Performance Goals

  • Achieve targeted KPI improvements.
  • Complete all QA paperwork on time and in full.
  • Proactively manage intake issues and quality control to avoid rejections.
