Location - Ash, Kent

Salary - Competitive DOE

Hours - 7 am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday (some flexibility required as some Saturday work required)

We are recruiting for a Technical Manager on behalf of our client, a leading fresh produce company based in Ash, Kent.

In this pivotal role, you will focus on improving production efficiency, reducing packaging waste, and ensuring the highest quality standards are maintained. You will support and deputise for the Packhouse Manager while managing the Quality Control team to ensure all products meet compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Line Leaders to reduce packaging waste around the flow wrap lines.
  • Handle technical tasks including customer complaints, quality service level data preparation, and yearly calibration arrangements.
  • Complete internal audits and prepare monthly shelf-life analysis reports.
  • Ensure compliance with BRC standards, GMP, and hygiene protocols.
  • Work closely with the Packhouse Manager to build a strong production team and deputise when required.
  • Monitor and enhance the efficiency of production teams, providing training, support, and feedback to drive performance.
  • Manage and update packing and production specifications and maintain the label database.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Understanding of fresh produce specifications and efficiency monitoring.
  • Technical experience is desirable.
  • Must have had food manufacturing experience.
  • Experience in a production environment with strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a flexible and dynamic approach.
  • Level 2 Hygiene and Food Safety Awareness, Level 2 HACCP.
