Production & Technical Manager | Packhouse | Kent
Salary: DOA - 30k+
Hours: Mon - Fri 07:00 -17:30 (Flexibility required)
We are seeking a talented Production & Technical Manager on behalf of our client, a prominent fresh produce company based in Kent.
This crucial role offers the opportunity to make a real impact by driving production efficiencies, minimising packaging waste, and ensuring exceptional quality standards are consistently upheld. Reporting to the Packhouse Manager, you will also manage the Quality Control team and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Experience in a supervisor/management role in either production or technical functions
Responsibilities include:
* Leading production teams, delivering training, guidance, and performance feedback to optimise efficiency.
* Working with Line Leaders to identify and reduce packaging waste on flow wrap lines.
* Managing technical aspects such as responding to customer complaints, preparing quality service level reports, and overseeing annual calibration requirements.
* Conducting internal audits and generating monthly shelf-life analysis reports.
* Ensuring compliance with BRC standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and hygiene protocols.
* Supporting and deputising for the Packhouse Manager, while playing a key role in building and strengthening the production team.
* Managing production specifications, updating packing protocols, and maintaining the label database.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A solid understanding of fresh produce specifications and efficiency monitoring.
* Proven experience in a production environment, with excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Strong interpersonal abilities and a proactive, adaptable approach.
* Level 2 Hygiene and Food Safety Awareness, as well as Level 2 HACCP qualifications.
