SEN Teaching Assistant - Severe Needs - Primary and Secondary-aged Pupils (Canterbury)

Full-time - Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 3.30pm

£83.33 per day

Are you an organised and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant ready for your next challenge? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Severe SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Canterbury!

This full-time position is available for an immediate start. While it begins as a temporary long-term role, there is potential for it to become permanent for the right candidate.

We work with a variety of SEN schools across Canterbury and the surrounding areas, so no matter where you're located locally, we encourage you to apply!

The Role Involves:

  • Supporting primary and secondary-aged students with severe Special Educational Needs, such as ASD, SEMH, profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and complex behavioural challenges
  • Providing tailored one-on-one and small group support to meet individual student needs
  • Assisting class teachers in preparing and delivering specialised lessons and activities
  • Creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, supporting with classroom tasks and resources
  • Supervising students during school trips, outdoor learning, and enrichment activities
  • Offering clear guidance, repetition, and rephrasing to ensure students are fully engaged in their learning
