Your Teaching Ltd are an established education recruitment agency, working with schools across Kent to provide dedicated support to children with special educational needs (SEN). We are currently recruiting for a passionate and committed Special Needs Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a school in Canterbury. If you are enthusiastic about making a positive difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs, this is the role for you!

The Role:
As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students who have various learning needs, including autism, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students in the classroom on a one-to-one and small group basis.
  • Assisting with personal care needs where necessary.
  • Helping students with their social and emotional development.
  • Providing tailored support to help students access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Working closely with the classroom teacher and other support staff to implement individualized learning plans.
  • Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is preferred, but not essential.
  • A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with young people.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A willingness to engage in professional development and training.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
