Qualified Speech and Language Therapist to work at a SEN School in Canterbury

Temp to perm role starting immediately on a full time basis, pay at KR9.

Key Responsibilities
  • Early Identification: Support the identification of speech, language, and communication needs at an early stage.
  • Individualised Support: Develop tailored strategies to address individual children's speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Intervention and Evaluation: Deliver targeted interventions and assess their outcomes to ensure effectiveness.
  • Collaborative Practices: Work alongside class teachers to align interventions with classroom teaching.
  • Family Engagement: Collaborate with families, offering advice and strategies to support children's progress at home.
  • Staff Support: Train and guide teaching assistants to deliver effective speech, language, and communication interventions.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in line with professional standards.
  • Professional Collaboration: Build partnerships with other professionals to enhance multidisciplinary approaches.
  • Caseload Prioritisation: Work with school SENCos to prioritise and manage your caseload effectively.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is preferred.
  • Ability to provide personal care assistance, including toileting and feeding.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude, flexibility, and resilience.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant background checks and obtain necessary clearances.
  • Hold an enhanced child-only DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
