We are seeking a talented Financial Controller to oversee our accounting department in the vibrant city of Cardiff. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and guiding our financial decisions by establishing and enforcing prudent financial strategies.

Description
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organisational structure to achieve the department's goals and objectives.
- Manage and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and budget forecasts.
- Support month-end and year-end close process to ensure a smooth audit.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take.
Profile
A successful Financial Controller should have:
- Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Proven working experience as a Financial Controller in the construction sector.
- Advanced knowledge of accounting and financial management principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Excellent strategic planning skills and able to interact with all levels.
- A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
