Academics are looking for an individual with vast administrative experience to undertake a School Cover Manager role. Your role will be to organise supply needs each day, and help with various administrative tasks. Academics are looking for an individual who is not scared of hard work, and can easily adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

This ambitious secondary school in Cardiff has high standards and strives for excellence. This is a Monday to Friday role with the working hours of 8am-4pm. This long-term role starts on the 4th December 2024, and will run until the Easter break. If both parties are happy, the school may be looking to keep you on either on a temporary or permanent basis. This rewarding role is perfect for someone who is looking to make a difference for students and school performance.

Roles and Responsibilities (School Cover Manager):

  • Managing and organising cover for absent staff.
  • Organising and providing induction and support for supply staff.
  • Ensuring that safeguarding requirements and other relevant regulations are in place.
  • Communicate with SLT and office staff to see school needs.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders (e.g., parents, supply agencies).
  • Approve agency staff timesheets.
  • Proactively chase specific information needed from senior leaders and staff.
  • Discreetly handle confidential and sensitive information.

Essential Skills & Qualifications (School Cover Manager):

  • Experience in an administrative role (education setting only).
  • SIMS (School Information Management Systems) experience.
  • Strong communication (including strong excellent written and verbal skills).
  • Able to work both independently and part of a team.
  • Strong organisation skills.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Outlook).

Desirable Skills & Qualifications (School Cover Manager):

  • Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate degree
  • Valid DBS (This check can be produced through us if needed)
