The Role – What You’ll Be Doing

As a Senior Electricity Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing and reviewing electricity infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards. You’ll provide mentorship, technical expertise, and leadership to the wider team while collaborating with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and review new LV & HV networks for commercial and residential developments and new connections
  • Ensure compliance with DNO, IDNO, and NERS standards
  • Produce high-level designs to support tenders and client requirements
  • Mentor and support junior designers within the team
  • Attend tendering and pre-start site meetings, offering technical guidance
  • Drive continuous process improvements and contribute to maintaining NERS accreditation

What We’re Looking For

The client is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong technical expertise and leadership qualities. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background and a proven track record in electrical design.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience designing electrical networks up to 11kV
  • Strong knowledge of DNO/IDNO standards & technical specifications
  • Ability to review and approve electrical designs in compliance with NERS
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations 2015 and utility project feasibility
  • Experience using Windebut and/or VisNet Connect software

Desirable Skills:

  • Professional registration (or working towards Incorporated/Chartered status)
  • AutoCAD proficiency and experience in cost modelling for tenders
  • A valid UK driving licence
