An established multidisciplinary design practice is seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to join their RIBA-chartered studio in Cardiff. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take the lead on residential projects of varying scales, from feasibility through to delivery.

The successful Architectural Technician will work on a wide range of residential schemes, coordinating alongside internal teams and liaising directly with clients, consultants and contractors. Working as part of a collaborative team of architects, technologists and designers, the role requires a strong technical grounding and the confidence to work independently.

Requirements for the Architectural Technician role:

  • Significant post-qualification experience, ideally within the UK residential sector
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Experience producing specifications using NBS software
  • Strong understanding of technical detailing and construction methods
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities:

  • Work on residential projects through all RIBA stages, with a focus on technical delivery
  • Produce high-quality technical drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and local authorities
  • Oversee project timelines, ensuring timelines and deadlines are met
  • Contribute to internal design reviews and project meetings
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning policies
