We are now looking for a passionate, ambitious and hardworking chef to join our kitchen brigade and work alongside our newly appointed Head Chef at the Park Plaza Hotel Cardiff.
You will need a restaurant background and be able to operate to a high standard using the freshest seasonal produce.
In the role of Senior Sous Chef, you will be expected to support the Head Chef in the day-to-day operation and management of the kitchen.
Duties:
Deputising in the absence of the Head Chef
Preparing, cooking and presenting of all foods to a high standard
Purchasing and control of all food and non food kitchen items
Ongoing training of the brigade
Delegating and supervising staff
Maintaining H&S, Food Hygiene including HACCP standards and procedures
You:
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Good temperament and the desire to train junior members of the brigade
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Previous experience in a similar work environment is essential. Ideally you will already be working as a Sous Chef but looking for more responsibility and the opportunity to develop your skills and work in a busy kitchen.
