Are you a technology leader ready to drive innovation and transformation in a highly regulated financial environment? We’re working with an industry-leading financial institution as they embark on a significant digital and operational evolution. With ambitions to double their customer base over the next seven years, this role offers the opportunity to be at the heart of that journey, shaping the technology strategy to support growth and modernisation.

The Opportunity:

Our client is transitioning towards a product-led model and is seeking a visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to steer their technology direction. You will inherit a complex IT estate and play a pivotal role in developing a future-proofed, agile, and scalable tech infrastructure. Your challenge will be to move from legacy systems to cloud-first, flexible platforms while ensuring operational resilience and regulatory compliance.

This is not a crisis-management role but one focused on modernising and aligning technology with long-term strategic goals. You’ll work closely with the executive team, including the CEO, to ensure that technology becomes a key enabler for business transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with the business's ambitious growth targets, including doubling the customer base within seven years.
  • Lead the transition to a more agile, cloud-first tech environment, ensuring systems are scalable and secure.
  • Oversee a diverse tech stack, including Azure, Mulesoft, and a significant investment program in data capabilities.
  • Manage a team responsible for IT operations, security, data services, and operational risk, ensuring high performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a strategic partner, working closely with the executive team on future-proofing the business and driving innovation.
  • Foster a culture of servant leadership, empowering teams and championing continuous improvement.

About You:

  • Proven track record in an executive technology leadership role, ideally within financial services or another highly regulated sector.
  • Experience driving substantial transformation programs, such as migrating to cloud platforms or modernising legacy systems.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, risk management, and operational resilience.
  • Ability to balance hands-on leadership with strategic thinking, guiding teams through complex changes while maintaining a focus on business outcomes.
  • Passionate about customer-centric innovation, with the ability to translate business goals into technological strategies.

What’s in it for you?

  • The chance to lead a high-impact transformation in a well-established financial institution.
  • Collaborative, empowering company culture that values innovation and long-term thinking.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including a potential relocation package for the right candidate.
  • Competitive executive-level salary, with bonus opportunities based on leadership and performance metrics.

If you're a forward-thinking technology leader who thrives on driving innovation and operational excellence, this could be the perfect role for you. Feel free to reach out for an info pack or to arrange a conversation.
