Are you a Senior Structural Engineer with heavy civils experience, ready to step up into a lead principal position and looking for a challenging and rewarding design delivery role?We are working with an independently run engineering consultancy with a fantastic reputation with over 30 years of history in Cardiff. They are looking for a Structural Engineer to join their growing team to work on local and national projects. With a talented and diverse team of practice has an active social scene and promises real career development. This person will need to have extensive heavy civils experience good geotechnical knowledge. Candidates can expect to be working on:
  • Retaining structures
  • Logistics facilities
  • Foundations
  • Large concrete elements
  • All major components essential to project completion
The business is looking for a skilled, enthusiastic and self-motivated Engineer to join their team at a principal level who can work autonomously and manage their own projects the size of which would depend on the experience of the candidate.       Responsibilities will include;
  • Senior point of contact and project delivery
  • Being he senior technical authority on heavy civil structures
  • Liaise with clients, managing and developing relationships
  • Site visits
  • Help guide and develop junior team members
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing, individual professional and academic development
  • Participating and contributing to design team meetings
  • Ensuring best practice is in place
The successful applicant will have the following competencies:
  • Self-motivated, able to work on their own with minimal supervision.
  • Can demonstrate clear effective communication skills both within the offices and external bodies.
  • Able to produce designs and reports for heavy civil structures
  • Able to direct and assist junior engineers
  • Will have a good understanding of the design process.
