We are working with a national civil engineering contractor with operations across sectors including water, energy, and environmental.

They have recently secured a long-term framework within the Welsh region to maintain and upgrade the lean and waste water assets and therefore require an experienced Site Agent to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to managing civil engineering projects within the water sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Site Management: Lead and manage all aspects of civil engineering projects, with a focus on water-related infrastructure. Ensure projects are delivered safely on time, and within budget, while adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  2. Site Supervision: Oversee construction activities on site, including subcontractor management, resource allocation, and scheduling. Maintain a safe working environment and enforce health and safety protocols by SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) regulations.
  3. Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders. Coordinate meetings, provide progress updates, and address any issues or concerns promptly to ensure client satisfaction.
  4. Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure workmanship and materials meet project specifications and industry standards. Conduct regular inspections and quality audits to identify and rectify deficiencies as needed.
  5. Team Leadership: Motivate and inspire project teams to achieve performance targets and deliver high-quality results. Provide guidance, training, and support to site staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  6. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare accurate and timely reports, including progress reports, risk assessments, and method statements. Maintain comprehensive project documentation and records in compliance with company procedures and contractual requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Site Agent or Site Manager on civil engineering projects, preferably within the water sector.
  • Valid SMSTS certification (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques, with a focus on water infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
