We are seeking a skilled Site Engineer to join an established construction provider in Cardiff. The Site Engineer will be working with site management team on a ay to day basis. The works are generally local but the position will involve working away.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing building work.
  • Undertaking surveys.
  • Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly.
  • Supervising contracted staff.
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety policies/legislations are adhered to.
  • Providing technical advice and solving problems on site.
  • Ensuring programmed deadlines are met.

Skills

  • Establish co-ordinates from issued construction data supplied by the Design Team for boundary, main build, substructures, drainage and external works.
  • Check site levels and compare to supplied survey, confirm or alert Contracts Manager/
  • Company Quantity Surveyor of any differences.
  • Existing Services: Establish physical location and/or request information.
  • Review Site Investigation Report and provide any relevant comments or concerns in conjunction with the Site Team.
  • Check documentation to establish any issues in relation to contamination, radon or similar.
  • Make arrangements for labour, plant and materials with the Team for the following:-
  • Ground profiling and removal of excess materials. Pre-arrange all plant.
  • Initial material requisitions for early operations.
  • Arrange site cabins and plant with Team ready for commencement.
  • Liaise with Buying Department for removal of excess excavated materials.
  • Check accommodation arrangements.
  • Assess, discuss and arrange with the Contracts Manager all labour requirements.
